Privacy Policy

This policy explains how OneLife processes information. The service is intended only for adults age 18 and older.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, password hash, session credentials, password-recovery records, and whether the address has been confirmed.
• Profile information: name, age, city, pronouns, biography, photos, interests, values, personality-test responses, partner preferences, travel radius, and—when you choose to provide it—location coordinates.
• Activity and communications: likes, matches, conversation messages, profile decisions, and feedback used to improve recommendations.
• Safety information: blocks, reports, report details, attached conversation references, moderation notes, and account actions.
• Referral information: a referral code for your account, and — if you joined through somebody’s invite link — a record of who invited you, whether the invite has been completed, and the rewards it issued. Referral attribution is recorded when an account is created and is not changed afterwards.
• Notification subscriptions: if you turn on notifications, the address your browser issues for its push service, the keys needed to encrypt a message to it, and a record of which notifications have already been sent to you so none is sent twice. Turning notifications off deletes it.
• AI preferences: whether AI-assisted outreach is enabled, selectivity settings, and context needed to create drafts or suggestions.
• Technical information: connection and request information processed to operate, secure, rate-limit, and diagnose the service.

How we use information

We use this information to create accounts, show profiles, calculate and improve matches, support conversations, provide optional AI-assisted features, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Photos, location, and sensitive profile details

Dating profiles may reveal sensitive information. Share only what you are comfortable showing to other members. If you choose to use location-based matching, the app stores your location coordinates privately to calculate distance and apply your travel-radius preferences. Other members receive only an approximate distance—not your coordinates. You can leave location-based matching unused or remove your saved location.

Sharing

Profile information is shown to other eligible users as part of the service. We do not sell personal information. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process data needed to operate the app; Resend processes an email address and delivery metadata when sending a requested password-reset message; if you turn on notifications, your browser’s push service (operated by your browser vendor) delivers them, and receives the encrypted notification and the timing of it but cannot read its contents; and the configured AI provider processes the context sent to create an optional draft. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

AI-assisted features

If enabled, the app may use profile and personality context to prepare outreach or reply suggestions. AI output can be wrong or inappropriate. Review messages and do not rely on AI for safety, identity verification, or important decisions.

Retention and deletion

Information remains while your account is active. Some safety and moderation records are kept after an account is deleted where we are required to retain them, or to enforce a ban. You can permanently delete your account inside the app using Delete account. This removes the active account record, profile, uploaded photos, sessions, matches, and associated conversations. Legal or security obligations may require limited information to be retained where applicable.

Security

We use measures such as hashed passwords, authenticated APIs, upload validation, and access controls. No internet service is completely secure.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, turn notifications on or off at any time, disable AI messages, block or unblock another profile, remove photos, log out, reset your password, or delete your account. You can report a profile or conversation for safety review. For access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions that cannot be handled in the app, email privacy@onelifedating.com, or use the contact details on our Support page.

Children

The service is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly allow minors to create accounts. Report a suspected underage account through the in-app report controls, which reach our safety queue directly.

Changes

We may revise this policy as the service evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version.
